Postscript: Not four hours after I posted the above, "the City" came by to investigate a report that we were "washing our forklift." Uh, excuse me? Didn't know that was a municipal crime. (And besides, we weren't guilty--anybody who takes a look at said forklift would know it's NEVER been washed--we were simply ADDING WATER to the radiator.) Anyway, suffice to say one thing led to another...and I had to step in before the police were called.

Is washing a crime in California? I've heard it call the "great unwashed" but I thought it was a metaphor.

I washed three cars this weekend. Triple sinner. Of course, with the draught over, Washington has water again. All over.

Man! You must have had a premonition!!! That is toooooo funny! I misunderstood earlier...I thought you really were washing the forklift, and frankly thought it was kinda funny that anyone would take the time and energy to do that! In all my many years of working, I have never seen a forklift get a bath! Thank goodness my record is still intact....

And John! What is this about the drought being over? All ready??? Doesn't rain for a few months and you all scream "Drought! Drought!"..then it rains a few days, and it over already?

Will they now be declaring that this summer will be: "The worst fire season ever..."???

The drought has to do with on-shore flow and the jet stream. For January - March, we had an off shore flow and the jet stream was north. Now the jet stream has shifted down to across us and brings in continous rain. Until the jet sream shifts again, we are not in a drought. Temperatures are 10-20 degrees cooler than they were in February. Our mountains have feet of snow added daily and skiing is in.
